Why I Chose to Create Cards from My Photos

As a photographer, I’m always looking for new ways to be creative with my captures. Most of the time, that means seeking out the perfect light, composition, or story through my lens. But in early 2024, I found myself wanting to bring my photography into people’s everyday lives in a more personal, tangible way, something beyond prints on a wall.

Greeting cards were already on my short list of ideas, but it wasn’t until a casual conversation with my aunt that the idea really took root. We started brainstorming, and her encouragement was the spark I needed. By March 2024, I had created my first batch of photo greeting cards—and I haven’t looked back since. I’m incredibly appreciative of her support and her belief in the value of meaningful, handwritten connections.

That’s a big part of why these cards exist because I truly love handwritten notes. Nothing says “I appreciate you” quite like a few thoughtful words written from the heart. Whether it’s from a friend, a spouse, a significant other, or anyone who holds space in your life, a handwritten card is a lasting expression of care. It’s a small gesture that leaves a big impact.

What makes my cards unique is that each 4x6 photo is attached with removable, photo-safe tape. That means the image isn’t just a one-time use; it’s a little gift in itself. If the recipient ever wants to change things up, they can simply remove the photo and pop it into a frame, tack it onto a bulletin board, or stick it on the fridge. It’s art that keeps on giving.

The cards are blank inside, giving you the freedom to craft that oh so special message, tailored to any occasion, or no occasion at all.

Creating these cards has blended two of my passions: photography and meaningful connection. And it’s been a joy to see people not just sending them, but displaying them, treasuring them, and giving them a second life beyond the envelope.

Thanks for following along on this creative journey. I hope you find the perfect card for your next heartfelt note and maybe a photo you’ll want to keep forever.

Let's keep rambling.
