A Fond Farewell to a Favorite: My Partnership with Vintage Patina
It’s bittersweet to write this post, but I wanted to share some heartfelt thoughts about my partnership with Vintage Patina in Annandale—and let you know that this charming shop will be closing its doors at the end of 2025.
If you’ve never stepped inside Vintage Patina, it’s truly a hidden gem. The shop is a cozy, creative space where local artists, makers, and vintage collectors come together under one roof. Whether you're looking for a unique piece of Pyrex, a handcrafted card, or a lovingly curated antique, there’s something special to discover around every corner. It’s a place that celebrates creativity, nostalgia, and community—all values close to my heart.
I’ve been incredibly grateful to be a part of the Vintage Patina family. Through this partnership, I’ve been able to share my Madcap Rambler Photography greeting cards and calendars with a wider audience, and I’ve also had the opportunity to sell some of my curated vintage Pyrex collection. It’s been a joy connecting with customers who appreciate both the beauty of the natural world and the timeless charm of vintage goods.
Like many small businesses, Vintage Patina has faced its share of challenges in recent years. From rising costs to shifting shopping habits, I'm sure the decision to close wasn’t easy. The economy has been tough on small retailers, especially those who are passionate about supporting local artists and consignors. While it’s hard to see such a beloved place go, I completely respect and understand the reasoning behind the decision.
If you’ve been meaning to stop by, now’s the time. Vintage Patina is open Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the shelves are still stocked with one-of-a-kind finds and handmade treasures. Your support means the world—not just to the owners, but to every local artist and vendor who has been part of this space.
I’ll be keeping my items stocked throughout the year, and I hope you’ll stop in to say hello, browse a while, and take home a little piece of what makes this place so special. Let’s send Vintage Patina off with the love and appreciation it truly deserves.
Let’s keep rambling.
